I HAVE BEEN TAKING A LEAVE OF ABSENCE FROM ALL EXPERTS due to illness in the family.

New to AllExperts as of December 03,2006. I'm looking forward to helping you with your Pet Rat questions. I've had experience in all areas of care so I can answer questions on wild rats, the history of pet rats, training and behavior, rats in the media (care books, fiction, movies, on the internet), Holistic care as well as health issues, breeding, sexing babies, types of rats, colors of rats, general care, food and treats, cages, bedding, toys and entertainment, etc. I cannot possibly know everything about pet rats but I have some very reliable resources to help me answer your questions. I cannot answer questions on genetics. I still go by phenotype to identify my rats. My website: Sandra Beasley and the Spaz Rats http://spazrats.tripod.com

NOTE: Due to the Holidays, there may be a short delay in receiving answers as fast as I usually do.However, any emergency question should be addressed by writing EMERGENCY in the subject line.If I read it and see its not an emergency at all but just a way to get my attention first,I will reject your question and you will not get answered at all.Any life or death situation, of course, should be handled by a qualified Vet.To request a telephone consultation, please email sandyscrittercity@yahoo.com. in order to schedule a date and time that is feasible for both of us. There is no time limit on weekends or after 9 pm M-F or if your cell phone carrier is Verizon Wireless. There is no charge for a telephone consultation. I offer my advice free of charge since my goal is to simply keep your rats happy and healthy for as long as possible. My reward is knowing that people learning as much as they can on rat care in order to provide the best care possible. Thats all I need to know. You cant put a price tag on .....

Why not keep them? No I am not nuts....because chances are they will live a few months once released and die anyhow. Wild rats life span is no more than 3 to 6 months anyhow, due to predators mostly
