| I can answer several different types of questions about eating disorders, and how to deal with them. I can help figure out how to determine whether an individual needs professional help; how to choose what type of treatment may be most effective (i.e. therapist, nutritionist, psychiatrist or combination). I can give information about what a person can do to avoid relapse which would include an explanation regarding how to identify and avoid triggers and give ideas about where to get help in person and online. I can also give advice to concerned family members or friends. Perhaps most importantly, I can help increase self-understanding and acceptance. | Available Ask A Question View Past Answers |

| I am recovinging from about nine years with my eating disorder and while I am not a psychologist, I`ve accumulated a good deal of knowlege about eating disorders as well as my own experience over this time. I`ve mainly struggled with anorexia, but have definitely had times where I have engaged in bulimic behaviors as well. I also struggle with over exercising, but am about to be certified as a personal trainer and have learned moderation as well as how to treat my body well so it can perform at it`s best. I promise to give an honest answer to anything asked, and I want to say that while it is a long, scary road---it is possible to get free of this and it is so important to keep on taking little steps and knowing that you are not alone. | Available Ask A Question View Past Answers |

| I can answer questions for those who struggle with bulimia or anorexia. I can give my opinion on getting treatment, specific treatment centers, and resources that may help you decide on a treatment option. I will not answer questions on how to become anorexic or bulimic or how to lose weight while engaging in unhealthy behaviors.
I am not a doctor or psychologist of any sort, but I am happy to give my opinion on what I am qualified to answer. In my own struggles, I remember thinking I would never be "normal" with food and not obsessed with my weight. Still, I got through this even when my parents and doctors gave up on me and so can you. There is a light at the end of the tunnel even when you feel hopeless and I hope I give even a flicker of that hope. | Available Ask A Question View Past Answers |
