There are very few questions regarding antique woodwind instruments that I'm unable to answer. I've either worked on, restored, or heard of most antique flute brands and am familiar with determining materials and/or dates of manufacture. I'm also able to provide an estimate for what your instrument is worth or what it would cost to fix! I'm familiar with antique or old clarinets, oboes, flutes, piccolos, fifes and most other antique woodwinds. Saxophones are my weak spot and I am not, however, familiar with bassoons! PHOTOS ARE IMPORTANT IF YOU'D LIKE MORE INFORMATION AND/OR AN ESTIMATE OF AN INSTRUMENT'S VALUE. IF YOU'D LIKE TO SEND ME PHOTOS (OR JUST EMAIL ME DIRECTLY), PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO info@foreverwoodwinds.com - Thanks!Available

I can answer most questions on fretted instruments, my main area of expertise is in vintage mandolins, guitars and ukuleles. I also know some things about old banjos as well. PLEASE NOTE: I do not profess to any expertise in other instruments -- that includes antique keyboards, woodwinds, brass and percussion. I will not be able to answer any questions about those kind of instruments. Thanks!Maxed Out

2008-07-14  c. bruno mandolin:   Hi Tim: Bruno's were decent factory-made instruments. I assume when you say "baroque style" you mean bowlback? I don't have any info on the styles of Bruno's but most likely it was a budget model. In...
2008-07-14  Antique Wraparound Baritone:   That would be an unusual horn. It is sousaphone or helicon shaped? It dates to 1913. There were bands in the 1800s that used a range of helicon shaped instruments, from alto down, but this horn...
