| My primary area of "expertise" (for lack of a better term) is in Filipino and Indonesian martial arts. However, I've been involved in the martial arts since 1978, trained in several systems and been exposed to many, many others. I've also done a fair amount of reading about martial arts in general and about various systems. I can answer questions about Filipino and Indonesian martial arts and I can often answer questions about martial arts in general. Feel free to ask me any question about martial arts. Even if I don`t have an answer I can often point you in the right direction to find the answer. | Available Ask A Question View Past Answers |

| The difference between Kung fu and Tae kwon do is that kung fu is all about little excertion maximum damage. They are both good arts for the body and mind. I prefered kung fu because it teaches you to take less damage as were tae kwon do you are required to get more bruises in class. Kung fu is all about angles and your ceterline. It teaches you to be like a pole always facing and jabbing through the opponetes centerline. It starts with all upper boddy first and minimul kicks. Tae kwon do has more kicks. They both get into grapeling but I believe that kungu fu does touch more on juditsu. I personally picked kungfu because as both arts are for defence kung fu is for a smaller opponate verses a larger opponate. Good luck in choosing if you have more detailed questions please feel free to e-mail. | Available Ask A Question |
