I can answer virtually any question relating to freshwater aquariums. I specialize in everything and anything to do with planted and unplanted community tanks, from stocking and compatibility to technical, plant care, set-up and maintenence. I have experience with all kinds of fish and have cared at one point or another for almost every kind of freshwater tank through the years. I can also help find you the best equipment and foods for your money. There are certain products that are useless, and ones that are great, usually the only way to find out is to try them, and I have tried them all. --If you are having problems with your goldfish, and they are in a tank under 30 gallons please do not bother me with your question. The answer to any question relating to goldfish in tanks under 30 gallons is yes, they do have disease, no they will not live long in a tank that size. Available

I am happy to answer your questions as best I can. I try to approach questions from readers from my love of fish... and as such I would like readers to know that it is difficult to diagnose fish disease when there is very little detail discribed in questions. For example: My red devil is lying the bottom of the tank... or my shark is changing colors and is now almost white; Etc. There are many reasons why fish would lie on the bottom of the tank and there are a lot of reasons why fish change color... not all of those reasons are due to disease. Usually by the time people ask questions the fish has already been sick for several days and they may or may not have tried medication or some form of treatment. Please include 1) why you think your fish has a particular disease, 2) all of the symptoms of not just your fish but the tank environment as well, 3) What you have tried as a remedy and the results of your efforts. Diagnosing a disease is easier when we have information about the tank because many disease manifest from certain conditions and if we can identify the conditions that may have caused the disease we can narrow down the possibile list of disease to a few and provide you with more accurate informationi. I can answer questions about Cichlids and other freshwater fish. I can answer questions about guppies and almost all community fish as well as goldfish, bottom feeders/catfish/algae eaters, ect. I can help with water chemistry issues, compatability issues, setting up tank, tank maintenance, etc. I love to discuss fish disease, plant disease, and the options available to keep fish alive and healthy. I have a lot of patience and encourage questions from masters and beginner aquariests. I have enjoyed keeping all kinds of fish over the years and would like to be able to pass on to you the love of fish that I have enjoyed...daveAvailable

I can answer question about basic freshwater care, set-up, and diseases. I do not know anything about Cichlids, so please no questions about them. I know alot about fish compatibility, and basic conditions most freshwater fish need to be in to be healthy. I also know about the basic freshwater fish diseases. Also, I know what normal habits are for most fish, but not all. I will either answer the question based on my own experience or I will find out what the answer is. I have kept several types of fish including: angelfish, platys, cory catfish, silver dollars, bala sharks, bosemani and australia rainbows, and bumble bee gobys, just to name a few. I look forward to helping you keep happy and healthy fish.On Vacation

I can answer questions in Spanish as well as English. Keeping freshwater fish is simple given you follow three golden rules: light and balanced stocking scheme, frequent water changes, and feeding a variety of foods, not just dried. Problems occur when you deviate from any of these or choose unhealthy stock. Once in a while fish do succumb to diseases, but healthy to begin with fish in ideal water conditions do NOT usually get sick.On Vacation

I can answer a wide variety of questions(provided that the questioner gives detail) If I am unable to ask the question I will research it thoroughly and report my findings. I deal mostly with cichlids and most sorts of tropical fish. I also work with aquatic plants and the landscaping of them. I also run a fish website(www.worldwidefishassociation.com) where I help many people too. I would like everyone to take into account my experience as to others, I do not wish false information to be given to you at the cost of your fish's life.Maxed Out

I can answer some questions regarding freshwater fish ranging from their care to diagnosing common diseases or problems with the fish. I can also answer questions regarding the care and maintenance of an aquarium. I haven't had much luck with live plants, so can't help in that area very much. Not real good with explaining salt water or brackish set ups too well either. Also regarding goldfish, I have some Common/Comets, and have a little experience with them but mostly just general info on them. I AM NOT THAT FAMILIAR WITH ANY OF THE FANCY VARIETIES OF GOLDFISH. YOU MIGHT BE BETTER DIRECTING THOSE QUERIES TO AN EXPERT MORE FAMILIAR WITH THEM. If I can't answer or don't know something, I'll let you know.Maxed Out

I own and maintain a large number of tanks with many various tropical fish species. During my fishkeeping past I have learned a lot of the myths and truths about tropical fish care. Currently I keep a wide range of species and have a lot of experience in; Severum cichlids, gouramis, platies, goldfish, bettas, tetras, paradise fish, Angelfish, Corydoras catfish, and many others as well as a couple of years with brackish water. If you have a question on tropical fish keeping I`ll be sure to answer it in the simplest way I can, and if I don`t know the answer, I`ll research the answer for you. Happy fish keeping! On Vacation
