| My best answers will be of the general or conceptual nature (i.e. "How should I attach a deck ledger to concrete block?" or "What are the pros and cons of treated lumber vs. composite material for decks and rails?"). I'll probably refer on to my (many) betters questions regarding the specifics of code compliance; characteristics of the lesser-used woods (mahogany, ipe, etc.); or ones where I just don't feel confident in answering with words as opposed to even minimal drawings, sketches, or illustrations. It can be true that not only is a picture worth a thousand words, but $6,000 for remedial repair because of a misunderstanding in, say, construction sequencing. | Available Ask A Question View Past Answers |
