Actually I didn't know the song, but I did a search on the Web, and the song is called "What Is Love" which was done by the Playmates in 1959. (I'm not into doo-wop, as I mentioned in an earlier response

Actually, "When" was not from the mid fifties, but from the late fifties, right around the end of the decade. I remember it well, because by that time most of the music on the charts was turning into rock'n'roll
