| I am the owner/operator of a small scale mini rex rabbitry. I am also a member of the ARBA. I can answer questions about Mini Rex rabbits, breeding, care of kits, general care of rabbits both pet and brood stock/show, general genetics (or can point you in the right direction to finding that information). I also have a general knowledge of medical and behavioral aspects of owning rabbits, but I am not a vet, so can not diagnose your pet.
I can not answer questions about dressing out or eating rabbits, meat rabbits (other than general rabbit behavior). Even though I am a breeder I feel that pet rabbits should be spayed and neutered, but that does not mean I will not help a pet owner out who has a litter on the way, or in the nestbox. | Available Ask A Question View Past Answers |

I can answer generic questions regarding behavior, diet, caging, toys, bunny proofing, and health. My area of expertise is house rabbits.

I'm not in the veterinary profession and there are some questions that should be asked of your vet first. Please do not wait for me to answer you if you thing there is a health problem Please take your rabbit to a vet.
If I do not know the answer, I will do my best to lookup information about your problem, but I may still recommend you take your rabbit to a vet, or ask another expert.
Recommended rabbit references are rabbit.org, the House Rabbit Handbook, Language of Lagomorphs, and Charky and Ash's Rabbit References. | Available Ask A Question View Past Answers |

| I have 4+ years of experience with House Rabbits, rescue groups, and working with shelter rabbits. I do educational talks about house rabbits. I advise potential adopters, supervise bunny 'dates', fundraising/educational rabbit events, and help rabbit owners with their rabbits. I will answer questions about: general behaviors, body language, housing, toys, bunny-proofing, diet, spaying/neutering issues, nail clips, preventative measures, diet, and health questions.
To clarify, I will not discuss: anything that deals with rabbits for fur, food, factory-style breeding, deliberate or casual breeding by pet owners, or experimentation. I will not discuss how to poison wild rabbits you consider pests. My focus is solely on rabbits as loved pets. It is the reason I am a House Rabbit Society member as opposed to an ARBA member. If you do not view your rabbit the same way you would a pet dog or cat, please ask another expert your question.
I am not a veterinarian and cannot conclusively diagnose your rabbit. I do a lot of reading and have been exposed to many different situations across our six healthy rabbits, the shelter rabbits I work with, and my mother's rabbits.
IF YOU THINK THERE'S A PROBLEM, DON'T WAIT FOR A REPLY, GET TO A VET IMMEDIATELY!!! Sometimes what appears to be a small problem is life-threatening.
My advice with respect to medical issues doesn't take the place of a good rabbit vet. The House Rabbit Society has references on their site for vets they have researched. There are US and international links here for vets all over the world with rabbit experience: www.rabbit.org/vets/vets.html
I recommend the following resources to all rabbit owners:

| I can answer questions on genetics, rabbit behavior, breeding, and health of all rabbits including meat breeds. I also work as a Vet Tech and know the basic treatment for most ailments, be advised that this may include emergency veterinary care. If your rabbit is sick I may tell you what I think is wrong but I strongly suggest that you take it to a doctor for an exam. I can give un-biased opinions on most subjects, however I must stress that I am not a doctor and I can't "diagnose", especially over the internet without seeing your rabbit. All answers are just my opinion and must be taken at face value. I am polite and if I cant find you an answer I will do my best to ask one of my co-workers or many friends for an answer. I will absolutely NOT give you advice pertaining to the un-ethical treatment of animals. Please do not ask me how to process rabbit meat. I have eaten rabbit meat in the past but I have no idea how to process a rabbit anymore than I would know how to process cattle. That is what butchers get paid for. | On Vacation returns 07/22/2008 View Past Answers |

| I can answer questions about rabbit care, especially rabbit grooming, body language,
training, and feeding. I don't breed rabbits, but I rescue and foster them, which may be
helpful to some people who have questions about that. When I got my first rabbit,
Couture, I spent months researching and reading all I could about rabbits and everything
they do, including their relations to the wild rabbits you can still see today.
I don't condone rabbit breeding, especially for food, fur and pet stores, and cannot answer
questions about that. I have also experimented with several brands of rabbit toys, foods
and can give opinions on most products, good and bad. I know about lops the most,
including special grooming and ear maintenance. One not very useful thing I can also
answer questions about is rabbit history, and their involvement in human history, in case
you've heard anything about it you want to make sure is true.
What I do MOST is examine the BEHAVIOR of rabbits. I relate it to breed, treatment, food,
stress, and several other important factors in a rabbit's life. I have had the most
experience with lops.
Remember to watch the HEAT! Summer is here and coneys don't like to be in over 80
