As a writer, a mother, and a children`s book reviewer for Family Fun magazine, I can answer questions or give advice on good books for kids of all ages. Although I have some familiarity with picture books, I specialize in chapter books for school-age kids, including adolescents. My husband and I and our two boys, ages 10 and 14, are all avid readers. We also love to read books aloud and listen to audio books. You can read some of my book reviews at www.bookbybook.blogspot.com. PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME QUESTIONS ABOUT OLDER BOOKS OR COLLECTIBLES. THESE ARE NOT MY AREAS OF EXPERTISE. TRY www.librarything.com/groups/namethatbook OR http://loganberrybooks.com/stump.html IF YOU'RE SEARCHING FOR THE TITLE OF AN OLDER BOOK YOU REMEMBER. | |

I can answer a wide variety of questions about children's literature from almost any time period. My mind is particularly sharp with small details of the literature in question, and I have an extensive personal library of children's literature to reference should the need arise. I am ready and willing to tackle any question that is brought to me. My strongest facet of expertise is probably recommending books for kids and teens. |

Hi Darlene, Sorry for the delayed answer. Your question was somehow lost in the shuffle, and I didn't see it until today. I'll give you two sets of suggestions, and if you would like any
Dear Chris - The book you described is not familiar to me, and finding older books is not my area of expertise. I review current children's books. It's almost impossible to find a book without additional
Hi Laura, It seems that the book you mention bears many similarities to an 1876 Martha Finley novel and its subsequent sequels, which are sometime known as the "Original Elsie Dinsmore Classics."
Dear Paula - The best places online to buy older, original books are resale or auction sites, like ebay.com, half.com, and alibris.com (for books only). Try searching these sites to see if anyone
