Several months ago I decided it was time to move on from a very addictive political chatroom I ran with the help of other friends. I have discussed national and international politics at length with neo-colonialist Brits who believe their "realm" civilized the world, and with backwoods right-wing southern survivalists who call people without stores of ammunition and several years of food and water rations to back them up "useless eaters." And believe it or not, quite a few people who, five years ago, we might have called "liberals" who voted as democrats in 2000 and 2004 are now alligned with anti-government survivalists in a solid belief that the government is going to be rounding us up and putting us into FEMA camps soon. The way I see it, Palin and Gingridge and Rush, et al, are having lots of fun with the drama they're playing out as the defenders of democracy fighting the evil socialist, Obama, and his plan to rule the world. Meanwhile, Obama is actually a centrist - a.k.a. a neo-liberal - which really doesn't give us anyone representing anyone liberal .....
