General auto repair, electical issues, driveability issues,anti-lock brakes,SIR systems,HVAC,engine performance,Gm spacific. I have worked at my current dealseship since the 1990 model year anything much older than that I have limited exposure to. I do not have very much transmission experience so those question you may want to ask of another expert. When you send me a question let me know the exact make/model/engine and year for the car or suv you have it makes it easier to answer the questions that way. |
Hi kevin: How does the car run when cold? does it have the normal fast idle and then slowly idle down as the engine warms up? My first though would be a dirty throttle plate and or idle control motor
Hi Jen: there are a few that I can remember. One for the engine control module for a corrosion issue. One for an ignition switch over heat condition and one for the power steering gear lower bearing
Hi Mike: The fuel gauge is more then likley a bad fuel level sensor on the fuel pump module in the tank. As for the clunk it could be a bad engine/transmission mount a bad ball joint and or lower control
Hey Paul: What Model car/suv is this? Chances are the regulator cable did snap Thus the crunching sound. The cables are not replaceable it's part of the regulator. depending on the model car the regulator
no real way of checking the relay, or the fan since it will work until it blows the fuse, guess the only thing you could do is replace the fuse and let the car run, carefully touch the back of the cooling
