I am also a board-certified prosthodontist and can answer questions about dental reconstruction including crowns, bridges, veneers, partial and complete dentures and implant restorations. I can also answer questions about TMJ problems. I can not answer about surgical reconstruction.|

I am not sure if the crown could cause such swelling. If the swelling is still present you need to go back and see either the dentist who placed the crown or the Maxillofacial surgeon who placed the implant
I have many tiny areas along the upper gum that almost feel as though there are bone shards under them. The pain if they are touched is awful! A few fragments have worked their way out. Is this normal?
