Experienced user of versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and X3 mostly for web page graphics, some photo retouching, some technical document illustration. Right now I only have versions 12 and X3 available to me, so I'll be best at answering questions about those.
PhotoPaint is a very well-balanced and mature image editing program, with professional features but a reasonable learning curve.
PhotoPaint's native image format, .CPT, is actually a variant of TIFF.

Felicia, There are a couple of things you could try before trying to uninstall and reinstall. 1. Try creating a new workspace. You can do this from the General section of the PhotoPaint options
Stephen, I'm afraid you're looking at an upgrade, or else switching to a different editor. PhotoPaint 7 will not run on Vista. There is no patch or other workaround, it just doesn't run. Sorry.
Wayne, I don't have time to do photo projects for other people just now. The project you've described, whatever your motivations :-), doesn't sound all that difficult. You don't need any expensive
Lloyd, I think that PhotoPaint 7 and Draw 7 will not run on Vista. The oldest version that will reliably run on Vista is probably Draw 12. Many people have reported the Draw 8 and 9 fail on Vista
Djordje, I cannot send you any movies through the AllExperts interface, it has no capability for attaching files to a response. There are plenty of sample video files available out on the Internet
