Pauline you can do both i highly recommend to get rid of the background and import a transparent image so the background is all in quark but if you have a complicated picture then just see what the
if you are going to start i recommend using indesign here is how to delete 1. Deleting preferences is a good tip in case QuarkXPress doesn't start up. By default they are in /Users/<user name> /Library/Preferences/Quark/QuarkXPress
hello Dave have you tried deleting the Preferences?
june i asked a few people and the reply was the same thing across the board, once you collect to output just use the new file as your main file. this way you make all the changes to the final file and
FIles placed in quark appear lowres so when u use quark it is faster and will not slow up the designing process. when made into a right PDF quark will use the link to pickup the highres file and use that
