Hi Alan, The line that you see is actually the border for that particular paragraph. Did you erase the border? If not, try this - Go to Format - Borders and Shading - and for the paragraph border
Hi Rohit, What you see is not a problem. Those are non printing characters which are bydefault hidden in MsWord. The dot represents a space and the character which you see at the end of the text is

Hi Katie, This is one of the autocorrect feature of MSWord which formats the numbered paragraphs with "tab" and "backspace" keys. To enable this feature you need to go to the "Auto correct option"
