It does not sound like you have a very good base for your pool. It sounds like you need to slurry concrete the walls of sand to hold it in place. If you have a thin enough slurry, you could compact it
I really dont know that much about caliche, except that is a soft rock. Very hard to break. It absorbs larger amounts of water. It sounds like the amount of damage you have is movement that willl not
