Keeping up with music gossip, news, media, and facts is my favorite hobby. I am also a musician. I play the drums and the piano. If there is a song you like, but don`t know the singer, or if you want to know more about a particular artist, or maybe you simply want music celebrity gossip info - just pass me the question. I can also answer your music business questions pertaining to concert promotions, organization of a concert, and the channels you may have to go through to reach the person in the music industry that can help you get that record promoted or made. However the information I will have to give you will be based on Canadian resources as that is where I am based.

Experience in the area

Honours Diploma in Audio Technology, 1998
Honours Diploma in Computer Programming, 2002
Promoted and Organized live concerts for a local community center, 2003-2005
Former Community Radio DJ (Paroles et chansons 2003-2008) - petc.cjb.net/www.chrwradio.com
Former Member of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) - www.carasonline.ca/www.junoawards.ca

What do you like about this subject?

How it is a part of our every day lives without us even realizing it. Anyone who tells you they do not like music is lying because they are exposed to it all the time. If they do not like it, it is most probably because they do not understand it or do not know how to enjoy it. Ask me how to enjoy it, and I will give you a very big response!! ;-)

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

I have achieved a lot just in the process of learning the field. I have participated in the technology and the production side, but now I want to go back to where it starts - composition. I am currently in the process of creating a score for a local theatre production stated to run in September of 2008. This is a first for me.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

Music can make you smarter. The more instruments you know how to play, the smarter you will be. This is especially true if the musician starts learning at a very early age. Also, it helps with concentration and when you are dealing with stressful situations.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

American and Canadian governments are always talking about removing music from the school curriculums. Music instruction goes beyond, with benefits in areas such as social interaction, order, understanding, and harmony. Unless the governement wants to deal with consequences, music should be regarded as a foundation for a life of learning.

I assume you were looking at the video from CityTV right?    Well if you look down the comments, it seems like the song has been debunked. it seems like it is an excerpt from Chopin.    Chopin Etude Op

This is a really hard question to answer because my favorite song changes a lot.    I like to choose artists/musicians instead. My biggest favorite is Mike Oldfield, then afterwards David Foster.    Every
