The Embassy should have let you know the process to obtain a birth Certificate; First You need to know exactly where, which town or village you were born in and then you need to contact the local City
Sorry I have taken a few days to answer, I have been researching your question. I have found nothing in Hungarian folklore. The entire discription you have provided suggest that this is Christian 'folklore'-
Dear Zsuzsana, You need to know the area or district where you were born in Budapest. then you need to go to that district office where they keep these documents. Relatives may be able to get it for you
