I have over 12 years experience as an environmental consultant. I think that generally engineers include a factor of safety into their calculations. I honestly have no idea about the answer to your question. I suggest that you contact a structural engineer or architect

Take the soil from your yard from under a tree or in a flower bed. Somewhere that gets a lot of leaves and that sort of thing rotting in it. You should be good. The peroxide helps stimulate the bugs
