(NOTE: I will be unavailable from 20 April till early January 2010. I will be serving abroad for a while. I am sorry for any inconvenience. Look forward to answering questions when I get back!!) I have spent the past 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, 3 years was assigned as an Enlisted Accessions Recruiter. I have been deployed various times to several locations. If it is a career in the military you are looking for or thinking about I most likely have the answer. I still have contacts with in the recruiting field and if I don't know the answer then I have folks who do where I can find the answer. I am very blunt and straight forward and will make no attempts to BS you. I will give you the best information that I possible can can. If you think that you cant handle the answer that I give you, then don't ask the question...... If you are planning on joining the military, your number 1 decision factor in making this kind of move is that you need to be more concerned about serving your country than your country serving you!! All the benefits are the best that you can find. Education is at a premium right now and its the most rewarding thing that you can do.

Experience in the area

Air Force Recruiter for 3 years, Air Force Career 19 Years

Education/Credentials

Community College of the Air Force, International Air Academy, Allied Business Schools, Embry Riddle Aeronautical College

What do you like about this subject?

The military is a very complex animal. Once you think that you have it down pat...It changes on you!

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

The reason that I do this is to help those who need advise in deciding what their next step is, or are in need of general answers. I make NO guarantee that the information that I give is absolutely 100% correct. I formulate my answers by the experiences that I have had during my career and by the most current standards.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

I am probably the only recruiter that will tell you NOT to take the job!! Be wise about making your decisions, if its NOT in black & white...its not guaranteed to you!!

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

Everyone thinks that the military owes them something. NOT TRUE... REMEMBER if you are coming out of High School, You have no skills that will sustain you in the real world. The military provides the training and the job experience to get you the good job later or not. Its really entirely up to you and what you do with the benefits you have while you are in!!

It all depends on what the Armys needs are. With the current unemployment rates being as high as they are, it may be tougher for you to get in. You may want to consider the reserves first. I know that

2010-02-05 Enlistment:

The regular Air Force unfortunately does not accept prior service at all. That door closed forever in 2000. But you should be able to get into the Army if you want Active duty or the Air Force reserve

2010-02-05 Pararescue question:

Well the Air Force wouldn't recruit the best for this position just to play around with your tax payer dollars. The reason you don't hear about their missions is that most of the missions that they complete

...something doesn't sound right to me.... Usually if someone washes out of training, they are usually reclassified. What kind of job was it? If he is in fact being discharged, there still should be

2010-02-04 Regret...:

since you didn't go to BMT, you are still considered a regular civilian. Getting into the Air Force now is a little harder. You may have to retake your ASVAB if its been over 2 years, so you may want to
