What do you like about this subject?  Flash gives me the ultimate flexibility. I often use Flash to build prototypes for websites, GUIs, and even simulations of desktop applications.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  I am working on AS3, and hope to begin application development using Flex/AS3 in the near term. For long term and self-indulgence, I want to build math-based organic art, pieces that are pretty much all code, that emulate organic movement and growth.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Flash movies can be made to respect browser navigation buttons, specific bookmarks, track user interactions, and even play nice with search engines.
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  Flash is largely a love/hate ordeal, with sharp feelings about whether it should be used at all. There are all kinds of excuses not to like Flash; accessiblity, poor design, security flaws, search engine ranking, etc. However, all of these issues can be handled by educated, thoughtful developers and designers. In many cases, there is no practical reason not to use Flash for general website design.
