Expert Profile: Lisa Willis, RN

Expertise:  I am a qualified alpine and telemark instructor with over 10 years experience teaching adults, teens, children and people with special needs. I can help you with equipment, planning a trip and things to do before you leave home as well as ways to break out of that ski rut you may be finding yourself in. I have skied in over 12 resorts in Colorado, New Zealand, Japan, Canada and Australia. I`d like to help you get the most out of your next ski trip no matter how big or small.
I have worked in 6 resorts and skied at another 7. equipment is a hard thing to decide on... but hopefully i can make it less painful, also if your equipment seems painful maybe i can suggest a few ways to fix it...where and when to ski, why do we ski and who's to ski?? ask me!!

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  skiing - when done correctly takes little effort and doesnt burn as many calories as you think!!
What do you like about this subject?  skiing has so many variables that sometimes keeping up with all the new ones is mind boggling. But learning a little each time makes this type of work interesting and amazing.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  to ski in as many different places, with as many different people, trying as many different foods and drink along the way!
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  the whole ski instructor image isn't like it used to be - we wear better outfits now *grins*

Thanks Lisa, We live in WA st, and get plenty of snow, so helmets and the actual ski gear will be the needs. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
