What do you like about this subject?  The speed bag allows for a tremendous amount of personal rhythmic expression while doing a workout. You can be jammin' to the beat while doing it. Nothing else like it in the fitness or music industry.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  I am currently creating a rebound board with electronic drum triggers, so different areas of the rebounding bag can make different drum sounds as the bag strikes those areas.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  The speed bag makes unique rhythmic sounds and accented beats that can be used to create improvised rhythmic "drum" solo's to your favorite music. It's like you are a second drummer with the band! see and hear a demo at: http://www.speedbagcentral.com/Demos.html
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  The speed bag is a great target for martial arts kicks and mixing hand- foot combinations.
