Expertise: I can answer questions for those who struggle with bulimia or anorexia. I can give my opinion on getting treatment, specific treatment centers, and resources that may help you decide on a treatment option. I will not answer questions on how to become anorexic or bulimic or how to lose weight while engaging in unhealthy behaviors.
I am not a doctor or psychologist of any sort, but I am happy to give my opinion on what I am qualified to answer. In my own struggles, I remember thinking I would never be "normal" with food and not obsessed with my weight. Still, I got through this even when my parents and doctors gave up on me and so can you. There is a light at the end of the tunnel even when you feel hopeless and I hope I give even a flicker of that hope.
Experience in the area I personally struggled with bulimia and anorexia for 6 years. I am fairly knowledgable in both anorexia and bulimia because I was underweight enough to be diagnosed with anorexia, but mostly engaged in bulimic type behaviors . I entered treatment for the first time at 18 - right after high school graduation. I did a few months in a day out-patient program, then a few months in a more intense in-patient program. I've made leaps and bounds from where I was 7 years ago and I feel my recovery has been an extreme blessing. If I can give even the smallest glimpse of that to one person with an eating disorder, then all the years I struggled with it would be worth it.
Education/Credentials I am currently attending college for an unrelated degree.
