Expert Profile: Brenton Hepburn

Expertise:  I am one of Jehovahs Witnesses. I can answer questions on the reliability of the NWT, the so called mind control problems, so called prophecies, and general practices and history of Jehovah`s Witnesses.....
>>>>WARNING<<<<<<
....Please be aware that there are at least ... 3.... people here who ARE NOT practicing JWs and have an agenda against JWs., and will often give answeres that are not correct in regard to JW teachings and practices. If you are after a answer from one of Jehovahs Witnesses, please read some of the answers that the various experets have published before chosing someone. If you want to ask them a question that is fine, but if you want a balancing view ask a JW.

Experience in the area
I have been a publisher since 1964. When I first went on the internet I found a lot of negative information dealing with Jehovh's Witnesses covering prophecy, mind controll and what many said was a very bad translation of the Bible known as the NWT. It shook my faith. After may hours researeching these topics I could see why some felt that way, but, I was also able to explain why there were these missleading views. I can now set matters straight for anyone that has negative information about Jehovha's Witness to show them that such information is at best missleading and at worst dangerous lies.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  I hope to help give a balanced view of JW's as most non JW's do not provide accurate information abot the beliefs of JW's
What do you like about this subject?  The opertunity to try to set matters straight regarding most of the miss information that excists on the world wide web about JW's
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Most people are unware that most of the critisisem regarding the NWT originated with one person that missused Colwells Rule as published in 1933 and that most crtitques just followed his lead.
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  Possible the most controversial things abot JWs is thier Bible and what others have seen as failed prophecy. I assurt that the WTBTS has NEVER prophecied in the aspect of fortelling a new futuer event as the prophets of the Bible did.
