I can answer questions on Charity Registration and Planned Giving. The former is the web of state laws that non-profits have to comply with before they solicit donations in a state. Each state (and D.C.) has its own rules. Planned Giving is raising money from donors' estate plans. The simplest example is a charitable bequest in someone's will. Other types of gifts include life insurance, charitable trusts, charitable annuities, retirement and pension plans, and real estate.
I wrote an ebook, "Charity Registration: State-by-State Guidelines for Compliance" and study the laws and trends in this area. I have written extensively and am a frequent speaker on the subject. We also do state registrations for non-profits. In Planned Giving, I have thirteen years of experience. For the past 7 years I have had my own consulting business devoted to this branch of fundraising. We have worked with large and small clients in social services, health care, education, religion, social justice and environmental preservation.
