Not-for-profit management issues, board development, staff management, corporate structuring, marketing, new business development, UBIT, strategic planning, mission development. I don`t have any expertise in fund raising.
I have consulted and trained solely in the not-for-profit sector for 20 years. I am a former staff member and executive director of a regional not-for-profit and have sat on boards of local, regional and national not-for-profits. I have six books published on not-for-profit management. My entire focus is helping not-for-profits be more focussed and businesslike in pursuit of their mission.
Nonprofit World, Nonprofit Times, Whole Nonprofit Catalog, Journal of Voluntary Sector Marketing, plus I am the author of nine books on not-for-profit management
BA University of Pennsylvania, 1974
Masters in Public Health Administration, Tulane University 1977
I have won the McAdam Award (for best new nonprofit book) twice, once for "Mission-Based Management" and once for "Financial Empowerment"
I view not-for-profits as mission-based businesses, in the business of pursuing their mission. I try to help not-for-profits adapt business techniques to this end.
