G'day Syed, Great Question and you are absolutely correct. while your batsman chose not to play at it , they only chose to run after it was missed by the keeper , that's why it's a KEEPER ERROR (BYE).

G'day Rayees,Great Question, 90 Degrees to the batsman on the off side would be the fielding position known as point. So yes it is possible and a commonly used fielding position in all levels of cricket
