What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  It's an ongoing quest to understand the true power of social forces.
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  As children raised outside from human influence show, it's exposure to society that makes a human being a person. Excluded from society, humans are almost unrecognizable as people. The process of socialization is required to create what we considered to be a person.
What do you like about this subject?  Sociology helps us to understand the influence of society on the individual. People's behavior, attitudes, and perceptions are all deeply affected by the social context. Yet, individuals also influence society.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  The "Looking Glass Self" concept is the idea that our self-perception is based on our understanding of how other people see us.
