Bible Studies/Expert Profile

Expertise

Hello to you! I love discussing many doctrinal subjects regarding God`s rationale for creating us like he did and our value to him. Also, I enjoy discussing things from the Atheist`s perspective too. I take the view that the Bible is not inerrant, that it has errors which are easy to prove, but I also believe that much in the Bible is God`s Word to humanity.

Experience in the area

I have spent over 30 years studying the Bible and related materials. Though I am a layman, I feel confident about my knowledge of the scriptures and welcome all points of view and will treat you with the respect you deserve.

What do you like about this subject?

This field of study is important to all of Christianity because finding the truth (if it can be known) about our afterlife is a topic of interest to most folks.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

I have always wondered about whether the Bible really came from inspiration of God, or, from man. My main interest in Christianity is to determine what is true in the Bible and what is not.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

Many Christians are not aware that actual errors are in our Bible. However, even with the errors, the Bible may be still God's Word (for the most part). It is important to know what is likely God's Word, and what is not. The question regarding if whether doctrines based on non-inspired text are still valid, facinates me.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

This subject can either bring down orthodox Christianity, or, raise Christianity to the level it was meant to achieve.
