Something controversial or provocative about this subject  Naval Nuclear Propulsion is a true "zero defects" organization. That doesn't mean that mistakes are not made, but it does mean that mistakes are not accepted as being "OK" or a normal part of the routine. This is a very different attitude than most of the rest of the world. When you finish training, you will have a completely different outlook on what "quality" means in a technical program.
What do you like about this subject?  Nuclear Power School is the most intense graduate level technical school in the country. The pace and depth of instruction will challenge every student. The founder of the school, Admiral Hyman Rickover, designed it that way, and his quote is still applicable: "In this school the smartest must work as hard as those that struggle to pass."
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Less than 10% of the students fail to complete the training.
