Jason Those switches are used to turn on half of a outlet usually the top.Shut the switches off and then test every outlet upper one and lower one.You should be able to find 1/2 that's dead then by operating

John What this sounds like is the neutral or ground may be bad or nicked. Check the voltage between the hot wires and the ground you should get 120 volts.Voltage drop may not be a issue as this building
2009-10-28 1 switch in a 2 switch box not working:
Chris Have you changed the switch? Switches can go bad,what you can do is remove the switch and take the 2 wires off the switch and connect them together with a wire nut and then turn the circuit back

JR That depends one the amperage draw on the unit.There is a name plate on the welder it tells you the voltage,amps and cycles there you would find the information on the breaker. 30 amp you need a #10
