What do you like about this subject?

Satisfaction of resolving issues that have been constant and or habitual, where no other sources of help are available.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

To keep up with the advancements in technology. Grow our own small business here in Kansas City. We are available for consultation, expert witness, repair and sales of electrical/mechanical/electronic devices. Restoration/redesign of antique or obsolete equipment.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

ANY electrical/mechanical device or system, may be flawed from manufacturer to installation. The SIMPLE solution is usually the most overlooked. NEVER ASSUME THE CIRCUIT/ASSEMBLY/DEVICE was ever CORRECT. Most devices that begin to shake or vibrate, are not out of balance! Many times prior mistakes are unknowingly copied.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

IT IS COMMON THAT SOMEONE BEFORE YOU MADE A MISTAKE ON THE ORIGINAL INSTALLATION OR DEVICE, BE IT REPAIRED OR NEW FROM THE BOX. NEVER ASSUME WHAT IS ALREADY THERE IS OR WAS CORRECT. If a repair professional gives you information that doesn't make sense to you, it probably doesn't make sense period. If in doubt, get another opinion.

Kirk, don't know what all else is in your system, but if the total load is not much more than the pump, a back up generator with auto transfer switch would be a fairly inexpensive way to not only protect

2009-09-22 Leviton GFCI 7899R:

If the wires are tight in the slots, the screws are of no concern, sometimes the first turn on those screws are a bit tight, so they don't fall out, But because you just bought it, why not take it

2009-09-22 Leviton GFCI 7899R:

Are you wrappng the wire around the screw or installing the bare ends into the slots, most GFCIs have two ways to wire, either wrap around the screw or just push the bare end into the slot on the back
