Don What you have is a leaking needle seat in the carburetor,Gas will get into the crankcase when you have a carburetor that is leaking past the needle. This leak is generally caused by either a float
Ben Sounds like you may have carburetor problems,when the engine ran at a high RPM a Throttle spring or a governor spring may have came off.Check around the carburetor to see if any springs are loose
