I believe yoga should give rise to profound changes in your life. In the years that I have taught yoga,I have seen people become more joyful peaceful and loving. The goal of yoga is to draw ever nearer to that inner center of peace, joy, wisdom, love, and energy.
My goal is to help others experience the power of yoga, so they can learn to experience their true nature.
The yoga postures are not only a series of physical positions, but exercises in mental awareness. The yogi must be very deliberate in every movement. He must feel every muscle. Above all, he must try to become conscious of the energy as it directs the muscular movements. He must try to develop an awareness of his body as consisting primarily of energy. Swami Kriyananda, founder of Ananda Yoga
Like many arts and sciences that are profound, beautiful, and powerful, yoga has suffered from the spiritual poverty of the modern world. It has been trivialized, watered down, or reduced to cliches.... At the hands of some, yoga has been reduced to the status of just another exercise program. Bhole Prabhu, a yogi, poet and philosopher
