I have visited Jacmel (south coast) and Cap Haitian (north coast) several times and can recommend hikes and trustworthy guides in each place. Sorry, I can`t advise on hotels, but maybe some restaurants.

Twice each year I bring a group of 20 American college students to Haiti as part of the SEAmester Program through Long Island University. www.seamester.net
