I can answer questions regarding Burmese (I continue to call Burma, Burma, and not Myanmar out of respect for people of this nationality) medicinal practices and Burmese culture as well as its language. I can also answer questions regarding the various religions practiced in Burma. I cannot answer questions about Burma's history, although I can answer questions about the military takeover of Burma in the early 1970's.
My brother married into a Burmese family to which I have grown close. At the age of 21, before I earned my Bachelor's Degree, I was the youngest speaker at University of Nebraska at Omaha's International Third World Studies & Review Conference. I was in the company of PhD's and experts in third world issues from around the world. I also belonged to Amnesty International during my college years.
