What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  This coming summer I hope to bike in southern Oregon and Northern California.
Something controversial or provocative about this subject  Some cyclists are quite assertive and try to confront the traffic. I try to stay out of people's way and have a more relaxing time. If I was really in a hurry, I would book a flight.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Possibly the hardest part, for most people, is being able to take the time away from day to day obligations. A good way to prepare for a long trip is to take many shorter trips and see how you like it.
What do you like about this subject?  Seeing more of America than the "in flight movie." Bicycling is a great way to avoid the rat race, especially if one can find the good bike paths.

I rated knowledge high because it would be unfair to rate on a question outside the scope of the expert. The rest of the response met high scores.

Thanks so much for the reponse to my 100's of questions. Don't worry, it was very clear, I will "pedal lightly while shifting"

2007-04-14  biking maps I am not from that area so I don't know a lot about it. When I biked through that area, I found a bicycle map of the north bay area. It covered parts of Sonoma and all of Marin Counties. I am sure there...
