Expertise

I can answer questions related to any of the following areas alternative medicine, fitness, physical education, weight training, senior health, bicycling, personal trainers, personal training, medical technology, health and wellness, eating disorders, weight loss, Naturopathy, first aid, and bodybuilding. In fact I was listed as an expert in each of these categories at askme.com until they closed down

Past/Present Clients

Clients of my personal training business (BMG Services Fitness and Nutrition) range from 15-80 and include Attorneys, Real Estate Brokers, Homemakers, and even Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen. By far though the bulk of my client base is the 40 plus female that has raised her family and now is able to take some time for herself.

What do you like about this subject?

I enjoy cycling very much, it is relaxing and the slower pace allows you to see much more and enjoy the sites much more than you would in a car. Road cycling and bicycle touring is what I enjoy most. I also enjoy doing "charity bike rides" because these are benificial to other people.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

I at some point would like to bicycle across the USA, and I would also love to see the Rails to Trails "emerald ribbon" come to fruition in my lifetime.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

Many great men have been cyclists, and I am not talking about Lance Armstrong or Greg Lemond but people that are not usually associated with being great athletes. The Wright Brothers ran a bicycle shop and were avid cyclists in Dayton Ohio. Albert Einstein is said to have come up with the Theory of Relativity while on one of his many bike rides.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

Probably the most controversial thing amongst road riders is which side of the road to ride on. The law is specific but in most states is not enforced. A bicycle in virtually every state is considered a vehichle and must follow the same rules as any vehichle, this includes riding on the right side of the road in the US and with the traffic.

2016-05-19 standover height:

Hi Gabriel    I understand the problem and yes different brands have a slight variation in standover height even though the frame size is said to be the same. That is the nature of cycling and bicycles

2016-05-04 Bike buying.:

Yes and No,  there are plenty of American Companies that source out to the Chinese but the Chinese have to make them to the proper specs which are often pretty stringent. Most bikes are made in Taiwan

Hi James,    I would say that yes a Hybrid is the best options, you get the upright position of the Mountain bike, and a narrower tire/wheel than the mountain bike which make it better for road riding

2016-04-16 Bike buying.:

Hi James,    I have purchased many bikes in my life and have advised many on how to purchase a bike. The main thing is to know what type of riding you plan to do. A Mountain bike can work for many types

2015-11-18 Driving license for Mountain bicyles.:

Hi Ashant,    Drivers License is required for driving motorized vehicles in the US. A bicycle does not fit that descriptionas most bikes are not   motorized. Even motorized bikes do not require license
