Expertise

I can answer the following types of questions as they relate to the "lesbian life": sex and sexuality, dating, race/interracial relations, STDs, alcohol and substance abuse, and general lifestyle issues. Specific questions about relationships are always welcomed. I am totally open-minded to all issues/problems/concerns and every question will be treated with respect and given the best possible answer I can provide.

Experience in the area

I've been active in the LGBTQ community for almost eight years and have always been the "go-to" person for insight and advice amongst my friends. I'm a peer educator at an HIV/AIDs non-profit organization and have been trained in many areas including, but not limited to: STD prevention, domestic violence, substance abuse, healthy sexual relationships, and lifestyle discrimination and stigmas. Training is on-going.

Publications

A couple of my articles have been published in No Labelz magazine, a new, alternative lifestyle magazine based in Atlanta, GA. Also, my first novel, That One Moment, is available now! Visit my website www.teresesmauldon.vpweb.com

Education/Credentials

I am currently studying to obtain CASAC certification (Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor).

2008-12-01 Should I..:

Hey Melissa, I understand why you would feel conflicted about who to tell and when to tell them. But here's the thing, you owe to yourself to feel completely confident about your feeling and sexuality

2008-11-03 stone?:

Hey J, So, here's the thing...different things get different people off. Simple as that. Like you, I've dated women who prefer to be the giver sexually. For them, pleasing me and making sure I'm satisfied

2008-10-17 How should I let her know how I feel?:

Hi K, Well, since you're clear on what you want, and you don't seem to be phased by the fact that you guys work together, sounds like you just need to do one thing: Go for it! Honestly, we shouldn't

2008-10-16 hey:

Hey Z, Sounds like you're looking for a way to explain your attractions and feelings. Thing is, sometimes there is no explanation. You feel how you feel, simple as that. Maybe this means you're gay
