Expertise

For about 11 yrs., I have been "specifically" attempting to do some of my "own" family research. I have been concentrating on the Southeast US and certain "surnames" maybe I can help a few people. Especially perhaps in the DC/VA/NC/MD states-going back to in some cases the 1700s.

Experience in the area

I have been doing research in the VA/MD/DC/NC area's of the US.
I also, have been doing some -research on certain "Old Virginia" families.

What do you like about this subject?

Have been keeping my "I out" 4 certain "surnames-with a growing # 4 about 5 yrs.,. I also, do few "Surnames" -am a "list-holder at www.rootsweb.com.

What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?

FOREVER-AN "ON-GOING field 4 me. Have not found out many the "things-I myself have been looking 4 www.familysearch.org

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:

Southern Heritage pt of "background -U will find that many "Southern "Records" R missing & a lot of "guess-work required. Don't B "afraid of "mistakes- "they R inevitable.

Something controversial or provocative about this subject

Many do not like 2 "Address" the issue Southern Heritage- in the US 4 "political reasons" This is not me- due 2 this some records have I believe, been "missing or destroyed.
