What do you like about this subject?  Addiction is mostly perceived as a social problem rather than a disease. I like educating people about the real facts of Addiction as a disease and how it should be treated rather than treating an addict as a social out-caste.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  To help build recovery in the lives of individuals, families and communities affected by alcoholism, drug dependency and related diseases.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  'One thing I learned about alcohol; it works. It may destroy a man's career, ruin his marriage, turn him into a zombie..unconscious in a hall-way..but it works. On short term, it works much faster than a psychiatrist or a priest or the love of a husband or a wife, those things..they all take time, they must be developed...But alcohol is always ready to go to work at once.
