Videotape is being phased out, yet there is no true archival replacement format for videotape, DVD is not it, that's for sure. Film actually lasts the longest at this point in time.
I don't want to see the day when film is no longer made at all and everyone "creates' via the computer and only via the "latest and greatest" software. I don't like the idea that basic creative tools can be pulled away from the user at any moment by software obsolescence or "upgrade".
