There is so much we have learned about children 0-5 years of age and we have so much more to learn. They see life through fresh eyes and there is so much we can learn from them if only we open ourselves up to the experiences!
I have learned so much and the more I learn the more amazed I am at what I still have to learn. I want to delve deeper into the non-verbal communication of babies. There is a new program from Australia that patterns baby's vocalizations and claims we can hear what the baby is telling us by their cries. This fascinates me. http://marykaykeller.com
Did you know that babies and toddlers do not develop knee caps until they are two years old? Did you know that baby girls have two uterus until just before they are born? Neither did I! Two little tidbits I learned recently.
It is imperative to know what the developmental stages are and how children's brains grow and function. Babies are born to SURVIVE. Their behavior is all about getting their physical and emotional needs met. We need to understand what these needs are in order to meet them and support healthy development.
