Storyline, animation, and good voice acting in both the Japanese version and the FUNimation dub.

Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:
Akira Toriyama began drawing the Dragon Ball manga in 1983. That manga was adapted into an anime that eventually produced 508 complete episodes divided into three series', seventeen theatrical films, five TV Specials, two OVA's, two Public Service videos, and three Live Action Films.
