Hi Michael, it's a rather rare instrumentation what you are looking for. The easiest is, as you also suggested, to double the parts, i.e. to look for arrangements for violin + cello or 2 violins + cello
Hi Bonnie, this is outside my expertise and I cannot answer the question. You actually have to visit a violin maker and show him the violin. To be more precise, ask 2 or 3 different ones and compare
Hi Sophie, what you heard is what the composer wants us to hear; thus it is correct. There are several reasons for this: 1. the melodious phrase AGFEFGAGF must be clearly stated by the violinist
Hi Darien, you can have a look at Sevcik's exercises with scales. Go to page 22 of the book, using the following link http://216.129.110.22/files/imglnks/usimg/2/25/IMSLP24946-PMLP56027-Sevcik_-_Shi
Hi Al, I am afraid, it isn't about age but height and body size in general. Assumingly you need either 3/4 or 4/4. I started at 13 with a 4/4 violin and I'd say it wouldn't be nice to change it next
