I have been going to Yosemite National Park since I was 10 years old (back in 1970), and consider one of my favorite places in the world. I have camped there, stayed in cabins, Housekeeping, and the tent cabins in Curry Village. I have gone on various hikes, and visited different sites.
Yosemite is truly our gift from heaven. The park is full of beauty, from the world famous valley, to the giant sequoias in Mariposa Grove, to the beauty of the view from Glacier Point, and the alpine Tuolomne Meadows. There is a lot to see when you are in Yosemite.
There used to be a firefall from Glacier Point. They would build a huge bonfire up there, then shovel the embers down the side. People from all over the valley would watch. Also, a tradition of campers in Yosemite was to call out for Elmer - nightly. This was done in the early 70's and you can still hear them call out to Elmer.

Hi Nicole, I may have answered questions about Lodgepole since we do go to Sequoia. :) If you can possibly get a campsite in the valley, do so. There are three now - North Pines, Upper & Lower Pines
Wow - Lucky you - the waterfalls are going to be so full! You won't need a tarp for the roof - The canvas roofs are waterproof. Although there is electricity in the "tents" I don't know if there
Hi Doug, Well, I am not any kind of backpacking expert, but I do know that Yosemite has wonderful vistas and trails. Have you ever considered climbing to the top of Half Dome? That is really a one-day
Hi Greg, I have found it so hard to camp in Yosemite Valley, that I either stay at Housekeeping or in a cabin near Wawona. Unfortunately, it's been years since I've been able to get a campsite, and
Hi Greg, There is a picnic area along the river before you get to Housekeeping, and Housekeeping is kind of close to Curry Village. However, there is no area within walking distance from the tent cabins
