Sorry for the delay in answering; I have been traveling. The campsites out of the valley are the best: Toulumne Meadows and White Wolf are too good ones. ALL campgrounds, even the more isolated ones
Unfortunately, I have never been to Hodgdons (sp?) Meadows, so can't directly answer your question. I will tell you that friends camped there and loved it. You will want to drive into Yosemite Valley
The biggest problem with visiting at that time of year is finding lodging. If you are outside of the park there can be lines where you enter...not good. If you can find lodging within the park then the
