I love Acadia passionately and have vacationed there 7 times in 15 years with my daughters. We've hiked most of the main trails, biked many of the carriage roads, canoed on Long Pond, rock climbed on Otter Cliffs, and enjoyed Bar Harbor and many of the surrounding towns.

What do you like about this subject?  I love everything about Acadia NP. I love how the scenery is so varied, from rocky seacoast, to quiet mountain lakes, to streams, hiking trails, biking roads, rocky mountains and forested flatlands and slopes. I love how many things there are to do. I love the quaintness of the towns on Mt. Desert Island, on both sides of the island.
What do you still hope to achieve/learn in this field?  I hope to help other people enjoy Acadia as much as I have.
Something interesting about this subject that others may not know:  Although one of the smaller NPs, Acadia is the first one east of the Mississippi. It's a very crowded park in the summer, but it's super easy to get away from the crowds, just by hiking.
