I know from personal experience that Kung Fu can benefit you in all areas and walks of life, your health, discipline, mental focus and much much more, the fighting aspects are solidly there, but they are only the tip of the iceberg.
I believe regardless of how much one has achieved we are always a student and should always be perfecting our skills, I look forward to continuing to practice and perfecting my skills as long as I possibly can. It's always a work in progress, if it isn't, you reach a plateau and stagnate.
This art benefits a person on many levels, their security, self confidence, individuality, maturity, etc., so they have the ability to fight, yet would rather walk away. This applies in all aspects of life, not just martial arts. There's a saying that a boy becomes a man when he learns to walk around a puddle instead of through it. Kung Fu benefits our body and mind.
See the section labeled Something Interesting about this subject, I think the same would apply.
